I will drop this part in the Science blog, and the rest of it, in the Community blog. It seems like there may be more political and policy driven "strings attached", beyond the basic science which may, or may not, be the original problem.
Is it time to research 3 mile island, and how that was handled, for a refresher on anything we may have learned from history? Hopefully, we do not need to go back to the original nuclear test sites in Nevada at the dawn of the atomic and nuclear age....
